St. Andrew’s School has launched a community-wide professional development initiative to create meaningful movement forward for our own school, as well as partner with other schools, innovators, and entrepreneurs, to bring about change for the betterment of our students and community.
Teach the Future Fellowship is a grass roots organization of likeminded educators who commit to learn more about the creative enterprises and industries that exist in our local community.
Through the fellowship, educators will connect with local resources and individuals that they can access as guest speakers and facilitators back in their school and classroom, connecting students directly with experts in technology and innovation.
In learning more in-depth about the opportunities and challenges of our local region in and around Savannah, educators will gain tools with which we can develop our students to become the innovative leaders that will contribute to our civic, social, economic, and technological wellbeing in the future.
We have just accepted our first cohort of 24 fellows. They come from 12 different schools (2 independent, 10 public), include all sides of the curriculum, and range from PK- 12th grade. We were able to offer 6 scholarships due to the very generous philanthropy of a community donor. We are working to continue to partner with community leaders and business to raise awareness of the program. We have received much positive feedback from community leaders are we are excited about the potential of the program moving forward.
