The Girls’ School of Austin is giving back by thanking frontline heroes in the community. Each student in the GSA’s lower school created a thank you card honoring the work of workers on the frontline during the pandemic. The project was conceived in a way to say thank you and recognize those men and women who played an essential role in supporting all of us during the pandemic – health care professionals, first responders, teachers, grocery store workers, sanitation works and others. The thank you cards were combined into a poster that was distributed to GSA students and families who then presented the posters to a real-world hero that they encountered. Students took these posters to fire stations, hospitals, and more to recognize contributions to our community in this challenging time and reflect on the sacrifice others made to support our city through this pandemic.
