What happens when math meets storytelling, architecture, collaboration, engineering, baking and service learning? The Kindergarten Gingerbread House Project! Our Kindergarten students completed an integrated project that incorporates all subject areas culminating in a giant gingerbread house. The project began with observation, continued with design and technology, included presentations from experts, followed by measuring, baking, calculating and teamwork. The project concluded with the students’ goal being met: a donation of a gingerbread house to the Ronald McDonald House, “to spread love, happiness, and joy.”
