Girls Preparatory School students, grades 6-12, celebrated International Day of the Girl on October 11th. The goal was to raise awareness and funds for issues relating to girls around the globe, and to inspire students to act to make a difference. Classes ended early on this Friday, and students attended a presentation on International Day of the Girl prepared by students and the History Department . Following the presentation, students gathered outside for a carnival. Many GPS clubs participated by selling food such as pizza, donuts, and quesadillas and by selling activities such as henna tattoos, pumpkin painting, or a cake walk. GPS raised over $2,500 at this event which will go to sending girls in Pakistan to school.
